The 32nd Creative Café｜Online Film Premiere of “Yamagata Ramen” (26 and 27 June)
The “Creative Café” is a local creative project of the Yamagata City of Film. It holds talk events and workshops on film and various cultural themes in a cozy atmosphere. The project aims to review the city’s culture, provide opportunities to consider the role of culture, and develop local communities by utilizing the power of creativity. Since 2020, the event has also been distributed online, attracting participants from a wide range of age groups.
EVENT OUTLINE
The 31st Creative Café presents the online film premiere of “Yamagata Ramen,” a short documentary film produced through our local creative project “Yamagata Renaissance Project.” The project produces a series of films that introduce the appeal of Yamagata’s traditional culture and supports local film talents.
Yamagata is a “Ramen City.” With the viewpoint of KAWAI Tan, a cartoonist from Yamagata City, this film discovers the chilled ramen originated in Yamagata City, exclusive ramen dishes served by the soba restaurant, the new ramen restaurant that purposely opened under the Covid-19 situation, and the long-established restaurant inherited the taste of mother after 50 years of operation.
