The World of UNESCO Creative Cities
It started in 2023 as a special program of the “Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival”. We call for applications of film to UNESCO Creative Cities which joined in the ‘film’ field around the world, and select outstanding works from the submissions and screen them.
Open call is held in the fiscal year prior to the year of Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival. Films are accepted from filmmakers and scriptwriters in member cities in the “film” field except Yamagata City, regardless of genre, length, or year of production. Excellent films will be selected among them and screened in the special program of the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival.
Panels display is also exhibited, introducing the cities that films being screened were produced during the festival.
