The Possibility of “Cities of Film” – How Film Enhances a City’s Appeal
映像文化創造都市の可能性 ー ”映画”が都市を魅力的にする ー
In 2018, we will be hosting the 2nd Yamagata Creative Cities International Conference in conjunction with the National Conference of Community Cinemas 2018 in Yamagata. Yamagata City has been designated as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Film on 31 October 2017. It is the first UNESCO Creative City of Film in Japan and has joined a network of thirteen Creative Cities of Film in the world. The Yamagata Creative Cities International Conference is an annual conference to share experiences and ideas with other member cities to promote UCCN mission. The 2018 theme is “The Possibilities of Creative Cities of Film”.
